Geelong West Occasional Care provides short periods of care for children under school age. We are a "not for profit" education and care provider.
Geelong West Occasional Care Services provide short periods of care for children under school age. Families can access occasional care on either a Permanent or Casual basis. Parents use occasional child care for a variety of reasons, including casual, shift-work or part-time work; respite care; crisis and emergency care, study, shopping or attending appointments.
GWOC allows people the flexibility to leave their children in an early childhood learning environment to socialise and interact with other children. The program is designed to meet the developmental needs of each child. It is stimulating to ensure continuing social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Although children attend on an occasional basis only, written records are kept of individual development and parents receive regular verbal reports regarding their children.
Geelong West Occasional Care requires that child care educators have extensive training in first aid and are CPR certified, along with Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management trained.
The service accommodation consists of a childcare room, kitchen, toilets and outdoor playground. The outdoor area is well equipped and provides a shaded area. All play areas are in full view of staff: ensuring ease of supervision.
